That’s a hard one :/ Either tell them the truth that you’ve got a friend whom you want to hang out with and they’re coming over to your state and need a place to stay, or make up that you’ve met him already. Which I don’t really recommend.

Have them meet him over Skype and he can promise that he’ll be very wonderful and help clean and cook! If they see that he’s a real person, they won’t be as afraid.
